A special thanks to an extraordinary partner...

Gracias Gran Amigo !
During a recent conversation with our long term partner Reading is Fundamental, El Valor was describing our exciting trip to Michoacan and hopes of learning and sharing with our friends in Mexico. We emphasized the importance of the natural environment and how vital it is for conservation education to begin at an early age (a core belief shared by El Valor and RIF). A couple of days later; Evan Georgi, Executive Director of RIF in Chicago, called El Valor to say that RIF was going to donate Spanish books for El Valor to share with our friends in Mexico! El Valor is extremely grateful for the generosity displayed by Reading is Fundamental. El Valor is honored to be a RIF partner and wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to eveyone at Reading is Fundamental.

About Reading is Fundamental
Reading is Fundamental, Inc. founded in 1966 is the oldest and largest children's and family nonprofit literacy organization in the United States. RIF’s highest priority is reaching underserved children from birth to age 8. Through community volunteers in every state and U.S. territory, RIF provides 4.5 million children with 16 million new, free books and literacy resources each year.
All RIF programs combine three essential elements to foster children's literacy: reading motivation, family and community involvement, and the excitement of choosing free books to keep.
RIF's accomplishments are due in part to the generous support of the U.S. Department of Education, corporations, foundations, community organizations, and thousands of individuals.

Did you know that Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) also has bilingual (Spanish/English) websites?

Visit ¡Leamos en familia! (for the entire family), or Semillitas de aprendizaje for children 0-5, their parents, and other caregivers.

You can access these sites by going to http://www.rif.org then clicking on either of the banner links.

Hope these links are useful to both you and your friends in México!
